As a web designer, you should consider using graphic templates. There are many website layouts and promotional banners available for downloading which can be used to enhance your website. Hiring a professional graphic designer to do the job can be costly and quite honestly is not necessary.

When you download a free template or if your purchase a graphic template, you usually are given the right to customize it or even build a completely new design based on it. If you can change it so drastically you might wonder why you even need the template. The answer is that a template can act as a source of inspiration and give you ideas for a totally new website design. (A blank web page won't give that to you!)

Additionally, you save a lot of time that could be better spent on more important matters like submitting your site to search engines or marketing your website's products. When utilizing a pre-made template, a few changes are all that's needed to give it a unique identity. Less time on graphics means more time to work on other more important items.

Hiring a designer to do the job is equally fast. However, hiring a professional graphic designer to do a custom design for you will most certainly cost a good sum of money. Unless you require a totally unique graphic in order to distinguish your site from another competitor's site, a graphic template will usually meet your web designing needs.

Be selective when choosing your graphic. Not all templates will work with your website's theme. Also, consider quality more than price. A few changes to the template and you've created a new relevant image for your website and saved yourself some time for more productive chores!
